A HACKATHON UNDER THE THEME OF URBAN MOBILITY
FROM 20TH TO 22TH APRIL 2018
Leverage the creativity and ingenuity of Moroccan students and entrepreneurs to improve the particularly problematic urban mobility of Casablanca. It is in this sense that the 3rd Smart City Hackathon was organized from 20 to 22 April in partnership with Enactus Morocco.
Designed for students and engineers of all ages, this ambitious Hackathon (the third of its kind) has created the creative ideas of nearly 200 participants in 22 teams. « Programs » concerning both the adoption of a particular type of transport and the proposal of new services to improve the disastrous traffic of large cities have been proposed.
The organization of this event was a subtle and thoughtful way of better serving the well-being of the country’s citizens and at the same time involving them in the city’s urban management policy. The Smart City Hackathon was an opportunity for everyone to contribute directly to the realization of projects to improve urban mobility.
In less than 42 hours, participants presented their ideas to experts in the field and developed their own business model. They also had the opportunity to craft a first prototype of their project while gathering feedback and advice from potential customers.
A strategic step during which they were closely accompanied by mentors, who did not hesitate to provide them with the most informed advice. Finally, every startuper has had its application evaluated by a jury of renowned specialists.
At the end of the Hackathon, three finalist teams received prizes for their careers:
